About Me
My background is in secondary education, with many years as a teacher and school leader, specialising in Special Educational Needs and Modern Languages. I have taught women in prison and worked extensively with children with autism. I completed my secondary teaching career as Head of School at a small residential school for children in the Care of the Local Authority. I am also in long-term recovery from substance abuse and eating disorders and have a deep personal understanding of addiction and the difficulties that both lead to and arise from it.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Membership no. 00992960) and as such I work within the BACP’s Ethical Framework and abide by its Professional Code of Conduct. This includes treating any information shared in therapy with respect and maintaining the strictest confidence.
